MUSCAT: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, received in his office on Thursday Wei Fenghe, State Councilor and Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China.
The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between Oman and China. They also discussed several matters related to fields of joint military cooperation and ways of enhancing them to serve the interests of the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman and the military attaché in the Chinese Embassy at Muscat.
MEETING WITH ROYAL OFFICE MINISTER
General Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, also received Gen Wei Fenghe, State Councilor and Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China.
The meeting comes within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman’s keenness in following up the developments of regional and international events.
The two sides exchanged cordial talks on the march of relations between Oman and China. They also reviewed several areas of joint cooperation and ways of enhancing them to serve the interests of the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China.
MEETING WITH FOREIGN MINISTER
Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, also received Gen Wei Fenghe, State Councilor and Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China.
The two sides reviewed the development in the relations between Oman and China in various fields and ways of enhancing them. They also exchanged views on several regional and international matters of common interest.
The two sides also highlighted the joint cooperation between the two countries within the context of international efforts to achieve peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Hashel al Musalhi, Head of the Minister’s Office Department at the Foreign Ministry, and Li Lingbing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman. -- ONA
