The Sultanate of Oman has bagged a prestigious title for having one of the most luxurious hotel stays in the world, according to a new research.

The presidential suite with sea view at Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Muscat, stood as the ninth most luxurious hotel room in the world, costing a massive £4,619 per night.

Two Italian hotels and three Middle Eastern hotels have featured among the world’s top 10 most expensive hotels.

The research carried out by Sleepseeker looked into the cost of rooms around the world to reveal where the world’s most expensive and luxurious hotel rooms are located.

According to the research, the most expensive hotel room in the world is the Royal two-bedroom suite at the Raffles Makkah Palace in Mecca. It will cost travellers a whopping £15,232 per night. What makes it to be the most costliest is that it features view of the Holy Kaaba, Islam’s most sacred site.

The second most expensive hotel room in the world is the Royal suite with King Bed at the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze in Florence, costing £13,450 a night.

The third most expensive hotel room in the world is the Deluxe Double Room with spa bath at the Hotel Relais Orso in Rome, costing £10,481 per night.

"The most important thing to consider when you’re travelling is how well you’re going to be looked after. Leisure travel largely depends upon the guest's choice which varies from having his/her own personal concierge and complimentary drinks to sleeping under the most comfortable duvets. And there’s no better way to achieve this than staying in the most luxurious hotel room you can find'', a representative from the Sleepseeker said.
