MUSCAT: Oxy Oman representatives recently attended the ceremony honouring the Sultanate of Oman's first participation in the upcoming Venice Biennale, where Oxy Oman is serving as the Strategic Sponsor. The Oman Pavilion at Venice Biennale is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The event was held at the Avani Hotel Muscat under the auspices of Said bin Sultan al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Youth for Culture. Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman, attended the event, along with other senior representatives of the company.

The Venice Biennale is an international arts festival which hosts artists from countries around the world for an exhibition throughout the city. This year, the exhibition will host Oman’s first pavilion space, which will display notable artwork by Omani artists. The festival will be held from May 2022 until November 2022 and is expected to be attended by thousands of local and internationals visitors.

“Oxy champions Oman’s culture and heritage as a key social responsibility pillar and we’re immensely proud to contribute our support towards the Sultanate’s first appearance at the Venice Biennale. We look forward to the unveiling of Oman’s pavilion with celebrated Omani artists and hope that it promotes Oman’s art history and cultural mark for a global audience at Venice,” said Kelly.

Oxy Oman has been a key sponsor of many initiatives and projects over the past years, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Youth, including Camel Races, the Oxy Sports Days programme and the Youth Centre.

This sponsorship falls under Oxy Oman’s umbrella of strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders and is part of Oxy Oman’s endeavour and long-term commitment to support programmes that enhance economic growth and sustainable development and that yield positive impacts in the neighbouring communities.
