Artists have come together for a cause of Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO) - the Iftar project during Ramadhan.

Art for a cause is being held at Water Front, Shatti Al Qurum to raise fund for OCO’s cause. A total of 28 artists from the Sultanate of Oman and other countries have contributed to the cause by donating their artworks - from photography, calligraphy to paintings.

The buyers of the artworks have the satisfaction of knowing that they are also contributing to the Iftar project.

According to Dalia al Bassami, organiser, on the opening night itself on Wednesday most of the artworks have been booked. Almost 60 art-pieces are on sale.

The guest of honour, HH Sayyidah Afra bint Talal al Said, herself an artist, donated an artwork to the initiative.

“It is an amazing experience to go through the art pieces. Everybody’s hard work is visible - different feelings, different textures and most importantly it is all for a good cause,” said HH Sayyidah Afra.

Dalia said: “We are grateful to all the artists for supporting this initiative and contributing to the cause. With the current booking the initiative is expected to collect an amount of at least RO 3,000-4000. The exhibition will be on until April 2. The Water Front has given us a wonderful hall to display the art pieces.”

The organisation also supports social welfare projects and programmes for children, orphans and the disabled. It has Food Help Assets in the country and abroad.
