The Sultan Cup for camel races competitions concluded at the Al Fuleij Royal Camel Corps’ racetrack in Barka on Thursday.
The three-day camel festival was organised by the Royal Court Affairs -- represented by the Royal Camel Corps, in cooperation with the Oman Camel Racing Federation.
Chief guest Shaikh Salem bin Mustahail al Ma’ashani, Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court, presented trophies to the top winners.
The final day's competitions were main five rounds, one main round from each category. Five cups and SUV cars were awarded for the winners as they concluded the season with one round with human rider for 2km with car prize.
The first cup and car for 'Hagayg' category for 4 km was snatched by 'Fanad' owned by Said bin Salim al Gedeli, 'Bylsan', owned by RCC and trained by Hamed bin Mohamed al Wahaibi, claimed the second round 'Lgaya' for 5km.
The third round was for 'Elythaa' category (6 km). 'Saayeb', owned by Hamed bin Salim al Gedili, claimed the cup and car.
'Areef', owned by Al Bashayer stables and trained by Gasim al Muharbi, won the top honours in the the fourth round for 'Althnaya' (8 km).
'Al Asma', owned by Al Bashayer stables and trained by Musa bin Ali al Ghafi, won the fifth round of 'Alhool' (8 km).
The last round of the festival and whole season was for human riders for 2 km. 'Eftetah', owned by Amer bin Salim al Zari, was the hero out of 14 participants.
On Wednesday, the opening race was a traditional race with human rider for 2 km, with 14 participants, Amer bin Salim al Oeesi snatched the first car.
In 'Elythaa' category, five rounds for 6 km was staged.
Amer bin Ali al Butani claimed the first round and won the car through 'kayf', the second car was claimed by 'Al Sadawi' owned by Ahmed bin Abdulah al Wahibi, 'Fkama', owned by Abdulah bin Humaid al Amri, won the third round and the fourth round prize was bagged by 'Ahdaf' for Ali bin Rashid al Amri. The last round was topped by 'Alshababi', owned by Hamdon bin Ali al Oessi.
In 'Althnaya' category (8 km) with two rounds, the car was won by 'Inthar', owned by Saif bin Abdulah al Shafi, the second round was won by ' Muther', owned by Gasim bin Amer al Mashayki.
The last category 'Alhool' (8 km) with run for three rounds.
In the first round, 'Wahelah', owned by RCC and trained by Saif al Habsi, bagged the top prize.
The second round was won by Muaathed bin Mubarak al Wahibi by 'Alfareah', 'Mulaea', owned by Muhamed bin Said al Rushadi, won the last round.
