Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has exempted companies and individuals from renewal penalties; provided that the renewal is completed before September 1, 2022, while the new discounted fees will be effective from June 1, 2022.
In the line with the Royal directives for the work permit discounted fees, the Ministry of Labour announced the new fees for expatriates according to the type of profession.
A 30 percent discount for companies abiding by the Omanisation percentage.
The commercial fees of RO201-301 have been divided into three categories and Omanisaton percentage will be determined for each of these categories.
Category 1
R0301 for senior and supervisory professions (managers, presidents, specialists, and consultants. RO201 (30% discount) for companies abiding by the Omanisation percentage.
Category 2
RO201 for technical and specialist and RO176 (30% discount) for companies abiding by the Omanisation percentage.
Category 3
RO201 for unskilled jobs and 141 for companies abiding by the Omanisation percentage.
For SMEs (Riyada cardholders)
RO101 will be charged for hiring one worker up to 5 workers.
RO151 will be charged for hiring six workers up to 10 workers.
Fees reduction for issuance and renewal of recruitment permits for non-Omani manpower will cut down fees for all professions, which will lead to reducing burdens that commercial activities bear due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It will help expand commercial activities and facilitate investment and give accurate knowledge of the types of professions and specializations required for the labor market.
It will increase the number of generic jobs suitable for job seekers and provide incentives to companies supporting Omanis.
In continuation to support small and medium enterprises, the previously applicable work permit fees for the non-Omani workforce will be maintained.
RO101 for issuance and renewal of recruitment permits for non-Omani manpower (1 to 5 workers)
RO151 for issuance and renewal of recruitment permits for non-Omani manpower (6 to 10 workers)
