MUSCAT: The Oman Equestrian Federation concluded the endurance competition for the season 2021/2022, organised by the OEF in Al Mohamed Track for Endurance in Barka, for a distance of 100 km as a local general race with the participation of 48 horses.
The event saw teams competing for cup, medals and cash prizes. The competition also included two qualifying races for a distance 80 km and 40 km, the race was attended by a number of members of the Board of Directors.
The competition witnessed a strong competition among the participants to get the final cup for this season, also OEF allocated rewarding cash prizes to the owners of the first places from the first to the tenth place, where the first place holder received five thousand Omani rials, second place four thousand Omani rials, third place three thousand Omani rials, fourth place two thousand Omani rials and fifth place thousand Omani rials sixth place 700 Omani riyals, seventh to tenth place will receive 500 Omani riyals.
The horse ‘Donderval’, led by Ahmed bin Fadhil al Balushi with the trainer Ahmed bin Salim al Kalbani achieved the first place and snatched the gold medal. The horse ‘Durgham Al Sham’ won the second place and the silver medal by the jockey Badr bin Salim al Balushi with the coach Ali bin Khalifa al Balushi. The third place and bronze medal was for the horse ‘Halim Muscat’, led by the jockey Adam bin Talib al Balushi and the trainer Ahmed bin Salim al Kalbani.
The fourth place was ‘Mona Lisa’ and the jockey Ahmed bin Darwish al Hammadi and the trainer Ahmed bin Ali al Balushi, the fifth place the horse ‘El Nayez Comelot’ with the rider Moayad bin Suleiman al Balushi and his trainer Mohammed bin Hassan al Balushi.
The sixth place ‘Mont D Orr’ and his jockey Mohammed bin Abdullah al Balushi and trainer Abdullah bin Saeed al Siyabi. In the seventh place ‘Sabha’ and her jockey Muthanna bin Yasser al Balushi and trainer Saeed bin Salim al Balushi.
The eighth place was Ahmed bin Salim al Rawahi over ‘Wjood’ and the trainer Abdullah bin Saeed al Siyabi, ’Okmar’ and jockey Amer bin Abdullah Al Balushi. Coach Abdulhamid bin Abdullah al Balushi won the ninth place and the tenth place was ’GS Lavan’ and his jockey Saeed bin Jaber al Balushi and his trainer Firas bin Salim al Siyabi, where the race included three stages.
The first stage for a distance of 40 km and given the red colour, the second stage for a distance of 35 km and the blue colour and the third stage for a distance of 25 km and assigned the green colour, the minimum speed is 14 km/h and the maximum heart rate is 64 beats / minute.
In the qualifying race for 80 km, started in the morning with 19 horses participated and six horses were able to successfully pass the competition. The race included two stages, the first stage for a distance of 40 km with red colour and the second stage for 40 km with the red colour, the minimum speed was 12 km/h, the maximum speed was 16 km/h and the maximum heart rate was 56 beats/min.
The qualifying competition for a distance of 40 km, 15 horses participated and 11 horses successfully passed the competition.
