Oman marks International Consumer Day

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) and Oman Association for Consumer Protection (OACP), on Tuesday marked World Consumer Day, which comes under the theme (Fair Digital Finance).


A seminar was held today at the hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque to mark this event.


The seminar reviewed means of protecting and enabling consumers in digital finance, as well as limiting its harms and ensuring sustainable digital financial tools.


World Consumer Day aims at maintaining the basic rights of the consumer in obtaining fair and sustainable markets.


It underlines the importance of cooperation among all parties to serve the interests of the consumer.
