Muscat, March 6, 2022 - Composing art and communicating life through music, the Italian jazz Maestro Paolo Fresu, accompanied by pianist Dino Rubino and bassist Marco Bardoscia will tune an enchanting story about Jazz in Muscat tonight (March 7, 2022). With the presence of government officials, Omani and Italian community, influencers and young talented local musicians, the Embassy of Italy is hosting a memorable evening at the Diplomatic Club which comes as part of Paolo Fresu Trio regional tour for the year 2022.
This jazz concert is among the first live cultural events that the Embassy is promoting after the reopening of the activities this year, aiming to bring Italy closer to Oman and increase cultural cohesion between our two countries through music. Throughout the year, the Embassy will continue to propose many enriching activities that cover the fields of archaeology, language, art, design, cuisine and music.
Paolo Fresu and Group will play a new trio entitled: “Tempo di Chet” meaning “Chet’s Time”, a refined tribute to great jazz musician Chet Baker, featuring a dialogue with a great emotional and intellectual impact between Fresu’s warm trumpet sound and vivid and creative mind, the powerful and engaging lines of Bardoscia’s double bass and Rubino’s elegant and vibrant pianism. The trio was designed in this form by Fresu for the theatrical adventure "Tempo di Chet - La versione di Chet Baker" produced by Teatro Stabile di Bolzano and directed by Leo Muscato. All the music of this trio is original and composed by the three musicians and published by Tǔk Music, the record label of the Sardinian-born trumpet player, primarily dedicated to new Italian talents, of which both Bardoscia and Rubino are an integral part since several years.
