SAF Chief of receives UAE commander

Muscat: Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra'eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), received Maj.Gen Said Rashid al Shehi, Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces, in Al Murtafa’a Garrison on Wednesday. They exchanged views on several military matters of common interest between the two countries.


Maj.Gen Al Shehi visited the Sultan's Armed Forces Museum at Bait Al Falaj Fort today. The guest was accompanied during the visit by Brigadier Humaid Abdullah Al Ma’amari, Head of Administration and Human Resources at the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) Command. The guest and members of the visiting delegation toured the museum and viewed its historical manuscripts and models. They were also briefed on the march of SAF’s development. The Director of the Museum accompanied the guest and his delegation during their tour in various sections of the museum. They viewed the historic manuscripts and models. At the conclusion of the visit, the members of the visiting delegation signed the visitor's book, expressing their delight to view the rich military and civilized heritage of Oman, as well as its aspects of progress and growth.

Maj. Gen Al Shehi also visited today the Maritime Security Centre (MSC). The guest was accompanied during the visit by Brigadier Humaid Abdullah Al Ma’amari, Head of Administration and Human Resources at the Royal Army of Oman Command. Upon the guest’s arrival at the MSC, he was greeted by the Acting Head of the MSC. The Emirati guest and members of the visiting delegation were briefed on the roles and tasks carried out by the centre in maintaining safety of the maritime environment. They also toured the centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties. — ONA
