Muscat: The latest weather analysis in the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre has indicated that the Sultanate of Oman continues to be affected by a trough of low pressure, which will last until January 5, Oman Meteorology said in a statement.
The weather is expected to be cloudy during Monday and Tuesday over the governorates of Musandam, North al Batinah, South al Batinah, Muscat, Al Buraimi, Al Dahirah, Al Dakhliyah, South al Sharqiyah, and North al Sharqiyah with chances of rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh winds, flash floods, hail, and wadis.
The peak of this weather system is expected to be on Tuesday, January 4.
A drop in temperature is expected on Tuesday evening due to the northwesterly wind.
Moderate to rough sea condition along most of the Sultanate coasts with a maximum wave height of two to three meters.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) advised all to take precautions during rain and wadis and to check the sea state report before sailing.
