Muscat: Represented by the National Cardiology Centre, the Royal Hospital occupied second place worldwide after submitting a research paper on patient safety at the 44th conference of the International Hospitals Federation (IHF), held in Barcelona, Spain.
The research paper, titled “Sustained Improvement for Protection Against Post-surgery Inflammations in Children and Adults”, contested alongside 250 papers from 70 countries, said Dr Safiya Ali al Shuhi, Specialist in Intensive Care in Post-surgery at the National Cardiology Centre.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), she said that the team which presented the paper came up with scientifically proven innovations which started way back in 2017 and are ongoing.
Dr Safiya added that the team gained many lessons from its study which benefited the team members and improved the quality of services rendered to patients.
Besides Dr Safiya (Head of the Research Team), the winning research team comprises Omaima Mahmood al Raeesi, Deputy Head of the Research Team, Dr Alaa Hassan al Lawati (member) and nurses Buthaina Khalaf al Hamdani, Asmahan Nabhan al Qarni, Laila Wajdad al Balushi, Rayya Nassir al Battashi and Oweina Hamoud al Barwani. --ONA
