His Majesty begins state visit to Qatar

Visit to open further horizons for future cooperation

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik started a two-day 'state' visit to the State of Qatar during which he will meet with HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.


This visit comes in response to the kind invitation received by the Sultan of the country from the Emir of the State of Qatar, and in order to strengthen the distinguished strong relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the sisterly State of Qatar and to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.


The Diwan of Royal Court issued a statement on Saturday, which said, “In affirmation of the distinguished relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar, based on the keenness of the two countries’ leaderships to enhance joint ties at all levels, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state visit to Qatar on Monday in response to an invitation from Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of Qatar.”


During His Majesty’s visit, discussions will cover all aspects of cooperation between the two countries with a view to upgrading bilateral relations and realizing the aspirations of the two sides and achieving the objectives set in all fields.





STRONG RELATIONS


Shaikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, has affirmed that the state visit of His Majesty on Monday, and His Majesty’s meeting with Shaikh Tamim, reflect the strong relations binding the two countries at all levels.


The ambassador told Oman News Agency (ONA) that this visit will pave the way for a new stage to meet aspirations of the two peoples. The visit, he said, will open vistas for many visions and projects that contribute to promoting political, economic, and cultural relations.
