Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, on Monday celebrated the "Omani Women’s Day” which annually falls on October 17.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Laila Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
A group of Omani women were honoured during the ceremony for their impact in various fields and their diverse accomplishments.
During the ceremony, Omantel’s prize codenamed "Badira” or "Gesture” was launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development.
The move comes in conviction of the importance of supporting the work of Omani women associations and their members in the field of empowering women and highlighting their efforts to enhance their participation in general life. --ONA
