The statistics of the Ministry of Education for the registration of new students in the first grade of government schools for the academic year 2022-2023 showed that approximately 15,241 students have been registered so far. The number of students targeted for enrolment who are of school age is approximately 80,000 students, whom were born from September 1, 2015 until December 31, 2016.
The ministry has opened the door for registration for these students in government schools since October 28, 2021, and has set several conditions for their registration. The registration should be exclusively for children born in the period from September 1, 2015 until December 31, 2016.
Applications for registration are submitted through the Sultanate of Oman’s educational portal by entering the link https://eportal.moe.gov.om. The citizen child must also have a civil number on the birth certificate, and the non-citizen child must have a valid resident card in the Sultanate of Oman.
After registering on the website, parents must report to the school, accompanying the child, and bringing the following documents: the child’s medical record, and a medical report documented by an accredited health institution on chronic diseases, or any disabilities that the child suffers from (if any), and the child undergoes medical examinations by government health institutions.
The ministry also notes that the last date for registration is Thursday, December 30, 2021, and registration shall not be allowed after that.
