MUSCAT: The Anglo-Omani Society held its annual lunch under the auspices of Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom, in the presence of James Cleverly, UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa.
Addressing the event, the ambassador pointed to the firm comprehensive friendship agreement and bilateral trade between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom.
He also spoke about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world and the Oman Vision 2040.
James Cleverly said that he was impressed by the developmental projects in the Sultanate of Oman and the projects in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm and the Oman Vision 2040. He praised the efforts exerted by the Sultanate of Oman in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic over the past months, affirming that the results of recent visits to the Sultanate of Oman reflect the commitment of both countries to continuing their fruitful relations.
The Anglo-Omani Society continued its activities over the past two years despite the difficulties caused by Covid and hosted several virtual events including exhibitions and seminars. — ONA
