A pop-up shop and exhibition in New York celebrates the 75th anniversary of David Bowie’s birth.

Located in the Manhattan district of SoHo, where the British singer lived, the multimedia experience titled “Bowie 75” will be available free of charge until January. January 8th, Bowie’s birthday, will be marked.

“This is intended to celebrate David for David and his fans,” Lawrence Peria, producer of Bowie 75, said in an interview.

An exhibition of all of Bowie’s deaths in 2016 includes a gift shop exhibit of Bowie-embroidered themed T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, posters, books and other tools.

Also noteworthy is the series of multimedia displays aimed at bringing icons back to life. Bowie can hear on topics such as the public interpretation of the telephone message artwork that can be heard on the replica of the K2 UK phone booth on the album cover of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust.

Another immersive experience allows visitors to listen to Bowie in a 360-degree sound space.

Fans can also write a digital message at a station called “Ground Control to Major Tom,” hinting at the lyrics of Bowie’s masterpiece “Space Odity.”

“David Bowie saved my life and the lives of many people. He made me love life because he is my favorite person and my favorite artist. “Said New York singer-songwriter Alessandra Mendes. “This is great.”

An additional “Bowie 75” pop-up shop and exhibition is also available in Bowie’s other major London haunts. — Reuters
