Argentina beat Germany 3-0 in the quarter-finals on Monday to continue their bid for a first Olympic women's field hockey gold.
Agustina Albertarrio, Maria Jose Granatto, and Valentina Raposo scored in a deserved victory for the 2000 and 2012 silver medallists and former world champions from South America. India edged three-time gold medallists Australia 1-0 from Gurjit Kaur's second-quarter winner to reach the last four for only the second time, the first being 41 years ago in Moscow.
The other quarter-finals later Monday are world champions Netherlands New Zealand and 2016 gold medal winners Britain v Spain.
