MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Asas Muscat regarding the council’s strategic partnership at the second edition of Kaderoon Forum, an initiative designed to extend support to the disabled.
The MoU was signed by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura and the CEO of Asas Muscat.
The presence of Majlis Ash’shura as a strategic partner alongside a number of government establishments, comes as part of its continuous initiatives to provide support to the disabled and allow them chances for social participation and enable them to contribute to the sustainable development process in line with the Oman Vision 2040.
Regarding the council’s partnership and its role in supporting the disabled, the secretary-general of Majlis Ash’shura said that the council pays great attention to this important segment of the society. He noted that the council worked on studying and approving a number of agreements and draft laws related to the disabled. The council came up with recommendations that aimed to enhance the provision of care, attention and support to the disabled. Besides, he said, Majlis Ash’shura recently issued a braille book on the competencies of Majlis Ash’shura.
Kaderoon Forum aims to integrate the disabled into society in various fields by working to realize their ideas and aspirations, through establishing projects that are suitable with their abilities and skills after providing them with appropriate training and qualification. The initiative, in its second edition, targets to set up 250 sustainable projects dedicated to the disable.
