Riyada okays on-the-job training for 160 Omanis

In the first year, 100 per cent of the salary will be paid by the Ministry of Labour as follows: RO 500 per month for graduates, RO 400 for university diploma holders, and RO 300 for general diploma holders. In the second year 50 per cent of the salary will be paid.

Riyada (the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development), said it has approved applications of 160 job seekers for its on-the-job training programme.


Riyada said it received 1,035 applications out of which 875 are under review. It confirmed that applications that meet the conditions will be approved soon.


The aim is to train 3,000 job seekers for jobs, which will improve competitiveness of the the small and medium enterprises sector

Registration requires a completion of the application form, an entrepreneurship card (optional), data of the trainees nominated for jobs, a proof of the institution's activity from audited accounts, contracts, financial statements or sales report, the institution's profile, and a detailed reference to job needs data with a training plan.


Riyada had clarified that the trainee’s contract will be registered by the institution with the Ministry of Labor and the Public Authority for Social Insurance at the expense of the Ministry, provided that the owner of the institution pays the subscription fees to the Authority, and his name is included in the company’s employee statements immediately after the start of the training program.
