MUSCAT: Oman Investment Authority (OIA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, launched an initiative that involves more than 4,800 job and training opportunities at a number of OAI-owned firms.
The initiatives, to be implemented in three phases during the current year, include direct job opportunities, work-related training, on-the-job training as well as training opportunities designed to hone the skills of the participants and equip them with the experience required for joining the labour market.
The initiatives target the holders of diploma, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in various specializations in addition to laid-offs and holders of the general education diploma and below.
The initiative stems from the keenness of the OIA and its owned companies to continue to adhere to the responsibility towards society by seeking to provide job and training opportunities, and to contribute to the employment of national job-seekers, an issue that is considered among the important national priorities in line with the directions of Oman’s Vision 2040 and its various objectives.
The initiative is based on several priorities, the most prominent of which are family income, marital status and work location. Some of the companies owned by the OIA have recently announced job and training opportunities and the registration mechanism method, while others will announce later on their own platforms according to the initiative plan prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Labour. — ONA
