Muscat: Qais Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion held a virtual meeting with Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed aspects of the joint cooperation in the field of industry, as well as the investment opportunities between the two brotherly countries. They also touched on the investment and economic climate and its strategic role in supporting the private sector and economic development.
During the meeting, a visual presentation was given on the industry sector in Oman which covered several areas such as the Oman Vision 2040, the vision and goals of the Industrial Strategy, the incentives given to the industrial sector and the industrial investment opportunities between the two countries.
The Saudi side shared its experience with the “Senaei” electronic platform which aims at helping investors in industry to reach digital contents and electronic services they need. It also laid out its experience with the “Made in Saudi” program, and shared information about the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund.
The two sides underscored the importance of integration in the industrial sector, and to arrange a mutual visits program between in a bid to share experiences. The two sides further stressed the importance of forming work team between the two ministries to set up a program for integration in joint economic spheres.
The meeting was attended by HH Faisal Turki al Said, the Sultanate's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, CEO of Madayn, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Commerce and the Foreign Ministry. --ONA
