MUSCAT: Muscat International School emerged the winners of the Private Schools Female Futsal League held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Choufat Private School finished runners-up and Jaifer bin Julanda Private School took the third spot. The finals was organised by Oman Football Association in collaboration with the Directorate General of Private Schools and the Ministry of Education from February 27 to March 13 with the participation of 10 schools. Mohsin bin Hamad bin Ali Al masrori was the chief guest for the closing ceremony. Officials at the Ministry of Education and school administrators were present. Aisha Abdullah al Jabri, OFA official responsible for female activities, said: “We are proud today that we were able to organise a lot of competition for females footballers.” “We have organised several events, including sessions and meetings of trainings and tournaments, festivals and programmes.” “Today we are proud with the success of the first edition of the schools league for females. I think we can strengthen women’s football in the community culture and discover a lot of talent.” “There is no doubt that women’s football in the Sultanate will grow further with more such events. We also hope to participate in foreign tournaments and make rapid progress in the game,” Aisha added.
