Longest living Omani dies at 127 in Bahla

The longest living person in Oman died on Tuesday at the age of 127.
Salim bin Hamad bin Abdullah al Qassabi was born in 1890 in the Wilayat of Bahla.
He travelled to Zanzibar in 1940 and lived there for 22 years. Al Qassabi was engaged in trade and known for his good deeds, tolerance and resolving disputes.
He was supportive of the Omani immigrants to Zanzibar. He returned home in 1962 following a coup in Zanzibar. Two years later, he travelled to Kuwait, where he worked for several years. Eventually, Al Qassabi returned home and spent the rest of his life with his family.
