Al Hajri inspires Oman to defeat Kuwait 1-0

Khalid al Hajri inspired Oman national team against hosts Kuwait as he earned a penalty converted by captain Ahmed Kanu in the 58th minute, giving the red warriors important three points in the second round of the Gulf Cup 2017 , held at Jaber International Stadium on Monday. After an unlucky first half, Khalid Al Hajri, who conceded a penalty against UAE, fired the Omani crowd when he earned the same this time. Oman has moved to the third place in Group A with three points, behind UAE and Saudi Arabia who have four points each. In the first game of the day, Saudi Arabia drew with UAE 0-0, to level the points table. Despite the victory against Kuwait, Oman national team will have to defeat the Saudis in the last round to qualify for the semifinal.
