Al Hajri inspires Oman to defeat Kuwait 1-0

Khalid al Hajri inspired Oman national team against hosts Kuwait as he earned a penalty converted by captain Ahmed Kanu in the 58th minute, giving the red warriors important three points in the second round of the Gulf Cup 2017 , held at Jaber International Stadium on Monday. After an unlucky first half, Khalid Al Hajri, who conceded a penalty against UAE, fired the Omani crowd when he earned the same this time.
The veteran captain Ahmed Kanu put all of his vast experience to give the national team the lead in the 58th minute. Oman has moved to the third place in Group A with three points, behind UAE and Saudi Arabia who have four points each.
In the first game of the day, Saudi Arabia drew with UAE 0-0, to level the points table. Despite the victory against Kuwait, Oman national team will have to defeat the Saudis in the last round to qualify for the semifinal. The game against Saudi Arabia KSA will be played on Thursday, while Kuwait will face UAE at the same time.
