For the first time in the Sultanate of Oman, the 'Digital World' event and the 'Hybrid Show' experience combine live show performances with digital broadcasting technologies, offering Muscat Nights visitors a unique blend of traditional live entertainment and modern technological innovations. Technology is advancing at an extraordinary pace, and the entertainment sector is adopting emerging technologies to create innovative visitor experiences. The event occupies a 2,000-square-metre area, guiding festival visitors on a journey from reality to imagination, allowing them to embark on a technological adventure filled with artificial intelligence. It features nine specially designed rooms, each providing a distinct world to explore.
Mohsen al Hajri, CEO of Golden Melodies Company, the organiser of the event, stated that it is accessible to those visiting Al Amerat Park during the festival for a nominal fee of RO 1. The hybrid show includes nine rooms, each offering visitors a unique experience. As guests transition seamlessly from one room to another, families and friends alike immerse themselves in a world that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. The show begins in the reception room, where a holographic character greets visitors with a warm smile.
The virtual character introduces the experience, saying: 'Welcome to Liminality. I am your guide on this journey between worlds. But before we begin, let me explain what Liminality means. It is the space between things, the intervals. It is the moment when you cross from one state to another — where boundaries blur and everything seems possible.' Adel al Balushi, Marketing Manager at Golden Melodies, elaborated: “In this exhibition, you will explore two worlds. First, the tangible world, which is the reality you can experience with your senses — a world shaped by gravity, light, and the earth's terrain. Here, you will find material and tangible things, a world you can see, feel, and understand.
The other world is imagination, where reality fades and abstraction begins. In this space, we rely on theories, equations, and concepts that challenge daily experiences.
