The Sultanate of Oman will host the Asian Arab Business Forum, organised by the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce under the auspices of Noralizan Abdul Momin, Ambassador of Brunei to the Sultanate of Oman, which will be attended by business communities from Oman and OIC countries at the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) on Thursday. Ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of Brunei, Greece, Estonia, Italy, SADC, Ethiopia, and many other countries in Oman, along with industrialists and businessmen from India, GCC, and OIC countries, will join the high-level forum where the Asian Arab Declaration for OIC countries will be announced. The declaration will pledge the commitment of support between the private sector in Oman and OIC countries to establish a robust partnership. 'Oman has several ongoing projects suitable for foreign investment, and investors can explore these opportunities,' said Nasima al Balushi, Director-General at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), who has been instrumental in enabling deeper partnerships between Indian businessmen invited to Oman in areas such as healthcare and infrastructure development programmes. Speaking to the Oman Daily Observer, Dr Santhosh Geever, Chairman of the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce, said that there has been significant interest from India, which has a large NRI population, in OIC countries. He emphasised that the region offers substantial opportunities for bilateral trade in IT, skill development, affordable housing, agriculture, minerals, gold, manganese, copper, and other resources. “As the trade office bridge between India and OIC countries, I will explore all strategic opportunities between the two regions. I am thankful to the leadership of Oman and India for supporting the initiative and for extending support to all our business houses in India and OIC countries. This creates a sense of confidence and credibility in our trade mechanisms,' said Dr Santhosh Geever, who has extensive expertise in supporting and collaborating with similar forums, leveraging his wide experience in Oman.
