The Wayanad Pravasi Collective, a community group formed with the motto of helping each other in times of necessity by a group of enthusiastic Wayanad natives in Oman, officially unveiled its logo at a vibrant ceremony held at the Imperial Kitchen Restaurant recently.

Formed with the aim to bring the people from Wayanad living across Oman together, offering support and creating opportunities, the group has now hundreds of like-minded people dedicated to extending helping hands and sharing knowledge and empowering each other.

'What started as a simple WhatsApp group to connect with fellow Wayanad natives has now transformed into a group of good samaritans, dedicated to bring together the people from the district living and working in Oman and provide them with the support, guidance and opportunities they need to thrive. By focusing on education, healthcare and promoting tourism, we aim to strengthen ties between Oman and Wayanad while uplifting our people,” said Linu Sreenivas, chairman of the group.

He further said that the newly unveiled logo symbolises unity, progress and the deep connection between the Wayanad expatriate community in Oman and their homeland.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaji Joseph, President, added, “This association is not just about addressing challenges, but also about creating opportunities. By promoting tourism and cultural exchange between Oman and Wayanad, we aim to showcase the beauty and potential of our homeland to a global audience. Our community’s collective strength will make this vision a reality.” 'We simply aim to bring together individuals from Wayanad under one umbrella, ensuring they receive the best possible support for their diverse needs. Together, we can achieve great things for both our community here and for Wayanad back home while supporting the country that we chose to live in. This is just the beginning,” said Faisal, General Secretary.
