Oman beat Qatar to boost semifinal hopes

Kuwait: Oman stunned Asian champions Qatar 2-1 in their second match of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup at the Jaber Al Mubarak Stadium in Kuwait City on Tuesday night.
It was Qatar, who took the lead very early after Almoez Ali netted in the second minute past Oman goalkeeper Ibrahim al Mukhaini.
Issam al Subhi replied through a penalty in the 20th minute for Oman and the forward struck his second of the match and third goal of the tournament in the 52nd minute.
In the later stages, the Red Warriors held on for a crucial win.
