Muscat Municipality launches ‘Rifq’ Service to rehabilitate stray animals

 
In a move aimed at achieving a balance between protecting the environment, preserving public health, and improving the quality of life for the community, Muscat Municipality has launched an initiative called Rifq Service, which seeks to care for, manage, and rehabilitate stray and stray animals, such as dogs and cats, humanely and responsibly, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to the noble values ​​​​urged by the Islamic religion, and global practices in the field of animal welfare.

The “Rifq Service” initiative focuses on achieving a set of goals that are in line with Muscat Municipality’s plans to improve the environment and health life by processing reports quickly and efficiently,

Reports related to stray animals are received from citizens and residents, and specialized teams work to deal with them to ensure effective and rapid solutions.

The initiative includes capturing stray animals and providing them with the necessary health care and rehabilitation. This includes periodic vaccinations, treatment for diseases and parasites, and

rehabilitating animals to become part of the environment without posing a threat to public health.

A key part of the initiative is raising awareness among community members about the importance of animal welfare. This is done through awareness programs that highlight how to deal with stray animals

and the role of society in protecting biodiversity.

The initiative works to implement campaigns to sterilize animals, which contributes to reducing their numbers and preventing the spread of diseases and parasites that may affect public health.
