MoSD to mark Intl Day of Persons with Disabilities

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Social Development will celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities today evening under the auspices of Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event will feature a visual presentation highlighting the lives and contributions of persons with disabilities and the launch of the 'Empowerment Initiative' by the Committee for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities in Al Dhahirah Governorate. This initiative aims to enhance programmes tailored to the needs of persons with disabilities across all governorates.
Key highlights include an initiative to employ persons with disabilities in the tourism sector and the 'Creativity Competition', which seeks to discover and celebrate the talents of men and women with disabilities. The competition also recognises supporting entities, rehabilitation centres and individuals who have made creative contributions to advancing services and programmes for persons with disabilities. - ONA
