Al Ittihad maintained the pressure until the 17th minute when Karim Benzema opened the scoring with a header following an accurate cross.
Al Ittihad continued to press while Al Nasr relied on counterattacks, which posed no real threat. In the 22nd minute, Fawaz al Saqoor almost doubled the lead for Al Ittihad with a shot that went just over the crossbar. Shortly before the end of the first half, Mario Mitaj added the second goal in the 45th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box, ending the first half with a 2-0 lead for Al Ittihad.
The second half kicked off with great energy from Al Ittihad. Mario Mitaj almost scored his second goal in the 46th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box, but goalkeeper Bilal al Balushi continued to shine. Al Nasr’s coach, Ahmed Bait Said, made several substitutions to improve his team’s performance, which resulted in better offensive movements. In the 51st minute, substitute Mohammed Abdulhakim missed a golden opportunity with a powerful shot that went over the crossbar, followed by another attempt from Mohammed al Musallami that hit the crossbar in the 54th minute.
Al Ittihad regained control, and Karim Benzema scored his second goal and the team’s third in the 68th minute after a brilliant pass from his team-mate N’Golo Kanté. Although Al Ittihad were awarded a penalty in the 71st minute after Ahmed al Ghamdi was fouled, Muadh Faqihi missed the chance to widen the gap.
In the 73rd minute, Al Nasr managed to reduce the deficit through Awad al Shahri, who capitalised on a ball inside the penalty area and struck it powerfully into Al Ittihad’s net.
