Sharqiyah Desalination Company supports health initiatives

Sharqiyah Desalination Company implemented three community initiatives to support the health sector in the Wilayat of Sur, under the auspices of Shaikh Dr Hilal bin Ali al Habsi, Wali of Sur, and in the presence of the Deputy Wali, Dr Saleh bin Hamad al Alawi, Director of Social Responsibility, and Dr Mohammed bin Ibrahim al Farsi, Chairman of the Oman Cancer Association, and with the participation of a number of officials and those interested in health and social affairs in the Wilayat.
These initiatives aim to enhance the health sector and support the neediest groups in society. Dr Saleh bin Hamad al Alawi, Director of Social Responsibility at Sharqiyah Desalination Company, confirmed that these initiatives come from the company's commitment to its social responsibility towards the local community.
He said: 'Supporting the health sector reflects our keenness to improve the quality of life for the neediest groups, as we believe in the importance of effective participation in supporting the national efforts made by those in charge of the health sector. Our initiatives this year seek to improve the health services provided and raise awareness of the importance of community solidarity, especially with regard to people with special needs and cancer patients.'
'Through the social responsibility portal, we are working hard to enhance integration between private sector institutions and the local community. Our annual strategy has been carefully developed, and our teams are keen to implement it accurately to achieve its goals of providing sustainable and effective support to the needy groups.”
The Oman Cancer Association praised the role of the Eastern Desalination Company in supporting the association and stressed that This type of partnership with the private sector represents an important tributary to the sustainability of the association’s programmes aimed at raising health awareness and providing treatment services to patients.
In addition, supporting the establishment of a sensory sensitivity room at Markaz Al Bahja, and providing treatment programs for the Autism Awareness Centre for children with autism, reflects the company’s true commitment to providing a supportive and appropriate environment for people with special needs, which contributes to improving their lives and enhancing their growth.
The participants in the meeting stressed the importance of such initiatives that enhance integration between the public and private sectors to serve the community, noting that the continuous support of the health sector and its institutions contributes to finding effective solutions to the challenges facing the most needy groups.
