Belarusian President visits Sohar Port

Suhar: President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday visited Sohar Port in North Al Batinah Governorate, as part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
President Lukashenko took note of the competitive features and incentives of the port, the largest hub of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman and the fastest growing port in the region.
The President was briefed about the integrated logistics system of ASYAD Group and its affiliate facilities—including ports, free zones, maritime transport establishments, dry docks—as well as the company’s competitive logistics solutions, which include direct lines for transporting containers, transshipment services, cold chains and e-commerce solutions.
During the visit, the President listened to a detailed presentation about the operations of Sohar Port and the latest expansion projects currently being implemented in its facilities. The presentation outlined the operational and promotional role of ASYAD Group, notably the group’s services and programmes on promoting the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman’s ports and linking them directly with global shipping lines.
Later, the President visited the headquarters of OQ Refineries & Petroleum Industries and listened to a briefing about the operational tasks of OQ Polymer Complex, one of Oman’s largest petrochemical complexes that has an annual output of 880,000 tons of polyethylene and about 300,000 tonnes of polypropylene.
During the visit, President Lukashenko was accompanied by Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (Head of the Mission of Honour) and other members of the Mission accompanying the President.
