Oman at the forefront in strengthening bilateral ties

The Sultanate of Oman has been strengthening its diplomatic relations with key friendly countries and this is evident from the increasing number of state visits.

Following the visits of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Türkiye and Belgium, the recent visit of the Algerian President to Oman, the country’s foreign diplomacy has now received a boost with the state visit of Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus.

The friendly relations between the two countries were established over the last 30 years, offering several avenues for businesses from both sides. Both countries have laid strong foundations for a sustainable future through ambitious national plans that clearly emphasise the social welfare and security of citizens.

Oman and Belarus are also determined to create cordial relations with all countries regardless of their political and economic status through initiatives that include peaceful negotiations, which will offer scope for economic developments through foreign investments in various sectors.

While Belarus can supply the Sultanate of Oman with products related to mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, the food and light industry, and advanced medical treatment for Omani patients who wish to travel abroad, Oman’s progress in renewable energy and urban planning will benefit Belarus because as nations, we face the same threats of global warming and climate change.

It may be noted that Roman Gulovitchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus, visited the Sultanate of Oman in October and held high-level meetings with officials and businessmen. Several agreements were signed during the course of this year.

Oman’s foreign policy is based on a strong commitment to dialogue and tolerance as a means to address various challenges and issues, which has gained the respect of countries and peoples.

Oman has become an oasis of peace and a trusted destination to play the role of a mediator to resolve disputes and reach understanding through dialogue.

The success of the Sultanate of Oman’s policy began from within as the government harnessed the potential of strong human development.

In light of the changes and events around the world and the conflicts transpiring in the Middle East region, politicians, researchers and specialists in political and security affairs confirm the success of the Sultanate of Oman’s policy in dealing with various issues which gained it the trust of governments and peoples as a mediator and promoter for peace.
