Rustaq Hospital excels in complex surgeries for premature babies

RUSTAQ: The Al Rustaq Hospital in Al Batinah South Governorate has marked a significant medical achievement by successfully performing two delicate surgeries on premature babies. These complex procedures were carried out by the hospital's Intensive Care Unit for Premature Babies and the Paediatric Surgery Department.
The first surgery addressed necrotizing enterocolitis in one baby, while the second corrected esophageal atresia in another.
Dr Mahmoud bin Salim al Subhi, Director of Al Rustaq Hospital, who highlighted the importance of this milestone, said: 'This medical achievement reflects the excellence provided by the hospital in the field of premature baby care. The nursing staff played an indispensable role in ensuring the stability of the babies before and after surgery.'
Adding to the commendations, Dr Amer al Majrifi, Consultant in Premature Paediatric, emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation:

This teamwork significantly enhances the success rate of complex surgical interventions.'
