Oman celebrates 53rd Union Day with UAE

SHINAS: The Sultanate of Oman on Monday joined the United Arab Emirates in celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of the Union. A ceremony to mark the occasion was organised at Al Wajajah border crossing by the Secretariat-General for National Celebrations.
Held in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the celebration saw the participation of Omani citizens.
At the outset of the ceremony, a reception was held for UAE officers, officials and citizens, greeted and congratulated by Omani on this auspicious national occasion. A concert was presented by the band of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO). The Omani signers presented four musical performances, while Omani folk troupes entertained the public.
The celebration concluded with a national song whose lyrics symbolised the two countries’ deep-rooted historical bonds, good neighbourliness and family ties. — ONA
