4.1% rise in passengers through Oman Airports

 
Muscat: The number of passengers through the Sultanate of Oman’s airports by the end of October 2024 increased by 4.1% to reach 12,158,086 (onboard 90,846 flights) compared to 11,677,931 passengers onboard 89,043 flights by the end of October 2023, according to the preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The number of passengers through Muscat International Airport by the end of October 2024 reached 10,720,381, comprising a rise by 3.7%. These passengers travelled onboard 80,678 flights (up by 2.3%).



International flights stood at 73,040, carrying 9,716,134 passengers. Meanwhile, the number of domestic flights reached 7,638 with 1,004,247 passengers on board.

Moreover, the number of passengers through Salalah Airport by the end of October 2024 reached 1,321,622, comprising a rise by 6.4% compared to the figures of the corresponding period in 2023. These passengers travelled onboard 9,068 flights (down by 1.6%).



International flights through Salalah Airport reached 4,410 with 576,743 passengers onboard, while the number of domestic flights reached 4,658 (with 744,879 passengers onboard).

Further, the number of passengers through Sohar Airport reached 65,427 on board 580 fights, while the number of passengers through Duqm Airport reached 50,656 onboard 520 flights.

As for nationalities, the Indian nationality topped the list in terms of the highest number of passengers in outbound and inbound flights through Muscat International Airport (153,396 passengers) by the end of October 2024. The number of inbound passengers from the Indian nationality reached 74,034, while outbound passengers reached 79,362.



The Omani nationality came next, with 99,236 inbound passengers and 50,723 outbound passengers. The Pakistani nationality followed next with a total of 51,172 passengers, of them 25,893 are inbound and 25,279 are outbound.
