Warm welcome awaits His Majesty in Türkiye

ANKARA: The Turkish capital Ankara has finalised its preparations to receive His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik who will go on a state visit to the Türkiye on Thursday.

His Majesty’s state visit to Türkiye will be the first of its kind since the start of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries and it comes in response to a kind invitation extended to His Majesty by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Türkiye.

During the visit, His Majesty will hold an official session of talks with the President of Türkiye and sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding. His Majesty will also visit some historical and cultural landmarks of the capital Ankara.

The two countries are keen to using His Majesty’s visit to Türkiye to further fostering partnerships and cooperation and opening new horizons for investing in various fields including technology, innovation, health, maritime transport, ports, energy, transport, food security and petrochemicals in addition to reviewing the opportunities available in economic zones and industrial cities.

The Turkish media and popular circles highlighted His Majesty’s visit to Türkiye confirming the strength of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Türkiye with as a number of media professionals and journalists in Türkiye stressed the importance of this visit which reflects the depth of relations between the two friendly countries.

Turkish journalist Mustafa Ozcan said: “This visit is a great indication of the progress of relations between the two countries towards achieving full integration in areas of cooperation in all fields to achieve more prosperity for the two peoples and to enhance strong cooperation between the two countries in the economic, political and security fields.”

Ismail Kaban, Editor-in-Chief of the Turkish Daily Newspaper, described the visit of His Majesty the Sultan to Türkiye as historic, noting that it would enhance integration between the two countries in a way that serves their interests which will positively reflect on the entire region.

Dr Abdullah Bali, Cultural Studies Expert at Ankara University, said that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Türkiye marks a special moment in the history of the Omani-Turkish relations, expressing his welcome to the visit which, he said, embodies the depth of the historical ties that have extended between the two countries over the centuries.

He notes that His Majesty’s visit highlights the will of the two wise leaderships to strengthen and develop these relations in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, adding that it comes at a crucial time to enhance joint cooperation between Oman and Türkiye in various fields including economy, culture and politics. — ONA
