SALALAH: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in Dhofar Governorate hosted the 'Global Entrepreneurship Week' forum under the theme 'Together to Empower Entrepreneurs'.
The event focused on fostering an entrepreneurial culture, sharing experiences among entrepreneurs, and addressing challenges while proposing practical solutions.
Mohammed bin Ahmed al Ghassani, Director of the department, emphasized the Authority’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs by creating a stimulating environment and encouraging dialogue between stakeholders and the beneficiaries of its services.
Key highlights of the forum included:
A visual presentation of the department’s major 2024 initiatives.
A dialogue session titled 'Together to Empower Entrepreneurs', discussing services and facilities offered to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Signing of business opportunity contracts between Dunes Oman Company and local SMEs across economic sectors.
Graduation of four participants from the Samharam business incubator program, which provides office spaces, marketing support, and consultancy for innovative, technology-driven projects.
Additionally, the event featured an exhibition of five projects from the Samharam incubator and recognised organizations supporting SMEs in Dhofar. The forum concluded with a strong message of collaboration to drive entrepreneurship in the region. — ONA
