IBRI: The Ibri Industrial City, part of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has emerged as a key hub for industrial and logistics activities in Al Dhahirah Governorate. Strategically located 150 km from Rub Al Khali port on the Saudi border and 180 km from Hafeet port on the UAE border, the city offers an ideal environment for businesses to leverage natural resources such as gold, gypsum, marble, petroleum and agricultural wealth.

Eng Hamoud al Khalili, Director of Operations at Ibri Industrial City, stated that RO 9 million was invested to develop the infrastructure of the first phase, spanning 3 million sqm, which was inaugurated in February 2024. This phase provides essential services, including roads, electricity, water and sewage systems, creating a fully-equipped investment zone within the city’s total area of 10 million sqm.

By the end of October 2024, the city had attracted RO 19.6 million in investments and localised 15 projects covering over 183,000 sqm. These include one operational project, four under construction, and 10 with allocated plots. Additionally, a RO 1.5 million integrated station project is underway, featuring a fuel station, rest stop, and truck services to cater to businesses and international road users.

Al Khalili emphasised that Ibri Industrial City aims to host diverse industries, including food, transformation, petroleum, building materials, light industries and warehouses. Its proximity to two key border outlets enhances its role as a manufacturing and logistics centre, linking Oman with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. With 100% of its infrastructure completed, the city positions itself as a pivotal driver of economic growth. — ONA
