MUSCAT: The Oman Green Building and Sustainable Cities Forum opened in Muscat, aiming to promote green building practices, sustainable urban planning, and renewable energy use. This two-day event focuses on providing insights into modern building techniques and fostering partnerships between public and private sectors to help Oman achieve its climate goals.

Sponsored by Eng Hamad bin Ali al Nazwani, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Housing, the forum’s agenda includes legislation, sustainable urban design, green building materials, energy and water efficiency, and facility management.

Eng Fahd bin Hamoud al Mahrouqi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, highlighted the forum as a key platform for sharing ideas and adopting green standards to support Oman’s transition to an environmentally friendly society.

Organised by Petroleum Development Oman in cooperation with Raya Services, the forum also features an exhibition showcasing advanced green solutions, from energy-efficient building systems to smart city management technologies. — ONA
