Freelance Work launched for tour guides in Oman

 
Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, in cooperation with the National Employment Program (NEP) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP), on Tuesday launched the “Freelance Work” initiative for workers in the tourist guide profession.

The initiative aims to support and organize the tourist guide sector in the Sultanate of Oman to encourage independent workers in this field providing them a conducive.

The freelance work register provides a legal and regulatory framework for tourist guide workers, which contributes to improving the level of service provided to visitors, and supports practitioners of the profession by providing training and development opportunities.

Obtaining a license to practice the profession of tourist guide after passing the training period is one of the steps set by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to enhance the quality of the profession of tourist guides.

The number of Omani guides who obtained a license to practice the profession of a tourist guide with valid licenses until the end of September of this year is 906.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism provides licenses for tour guides to operate in the Sultanate. This license is required to operate as a tour guide in Oman. The service is provided for those wishing to obtain a card to practice the profession.
