Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) celebrated its annual day on Monday, which falls on November 3 each year, under the patronage of Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs.

The ceremony, held at the military parade ground at Said bin Sultan Naval Base, included the graduation of a new batch of officer cadets from the General Education Diploma course, the University Officer Candidate Course, and the Limited Service Officer Course. The event featured a variety of military displays that showcased the skills and proficiency of RNO personnel, reflecting the supreme care and attention provided by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, as the RNO advances confidently towards modernization and enhancement of its weaponry, equipment, and human resources to bolster its military capabilities and fulfill its significant national responsibilities.

The ceremony commenced with the playing of the Royal Anthem as His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs arrived. Following this, His Highness inspected the front row of the parade formation, and the troops performed a slow-march military parade, passing in front of the main platform and presenting a military salute to the event’s patron.

His Highness then presented the Sword of Honor to the top graduates of the General Education Diploma officer course, Lieutenant Usama bin Ibrahim Al Ghafri and Lieutenant Fahd bin Khalifa Al Shaqsi.
