The preliminary round matches of the Junior Basketball Championship for the 2024-2025 sports season, held at Al Amal Club Hall and Sohar Sports Complex, concluded with Nizwa Club defeating Qurayat with a score of 83-52, and Seeb Club triumph over Masirah with a score of 58-33.
In the first match, Nizwa Club achieved victory over Qurayat with a score of 83-52.
Nizwa started by scoring 29 points, while Qurayat scored 15 points. In the second quarter, Qurayat came up offensively, but Nizwa continued their lead, scoring 17 points to Qurayat's 13, ending the second half with Nizwa leading 46-28.
In the third quarter, the competition continued, with Qurayat scoring 15 points and Nizwa adding 16 points, to finish the quarter with a score of 62-43 in favour of Nizwa. In the fourth quarter, Nizwa maintained offensive and defensive dominance, scoring 21 points to Qurayat's 9, ending the game with Nizwa's victory at 83-52.
The match was officiated by Ali al Salmani, Husain al Awameri, Al Mahdi al Alawi, the table managed by Musa al Siyabi, Rayan al Dhabouni, and Mariam al Zadjali.
In the second match, Seeb Club achieved a significant victory over Masirah Club with a score of 58-33 in an exciting encounter at the Sohar Sports Complex. Seeb controlled the game and secured points through the focused efforts of its players, especially Azan al Ajmi, who scored 19 points, Zaid al Bahlani with 15 points, and Saif al Yahya with 12 points. On the other hand, Badr al Farsi scored 8 points for Masirah, with Ayham al Shizawi and Rashid al Eisai contributing 6 points each.
In the first quarter, Seeb dominated both offensively and defensively by scored 14 points while Masirah managed just 4 points. Seeb continued their lead in the second quarter by adding 23 points to Masirah's 9, ending the second half with Seeb ahead 37-13.
In the third quarter, Seeb widened the gap further, scoring 14 points to Masirah's 6, finishing the quarter at 51-19. The fourth quarter saw a noticeable improvement in Masirah’s performance as they attempted to close the gap, successfully scoring 14 points, while Seeb added 7 points, concluding the game with Seeb's victory over Masirah at 58-33.
