Sayyid Badr coveys HM's greetings to Kuwait Emir

KUWAIT: Shaikh Sabah Khalid Al Hamad Al Mubarak al Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait received at Bayan Palace on Thursday Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister who is on an official visit to Kuwait.
The Foreign Minister conveyed greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait. He also conveyed His Majesty’s wishes of continuous growth and prosperity for the Kuwaiti people, and the relations between the two countries further progress.
On his turn, the Kuwait’s Crown Prince conveyed greetings and best wishes of the Emir of Kuwait to His Majesty the Sultan. He also conveyed the Emir’s best wishes to Omani people, and the relations between the two countries further progress and growth.
The meeting discussed relations of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and explored means of enhancing them to serve the joint interests. It also affirmed continuously expanding prospects of cooperation in a manner that meets aspirations of the two countries’ peoples.
The two sides exchanged points of view on several regional and international issues of common concern. They underlined sharing identical visions towards the necessity of enhancing the regional and international cooperation to consolidate pillars of security and peace in the region. They also underscored the importance of Arab solidarity towards issues of the region, the foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Hashil al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighbourliness Department, Dr Saleh bin Amer al Kharousi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Kuwait and officials from both sides.
Also, Shaikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Ahmad al Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait received at Bayan Palace on Thursday Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister who is on a visit to Kuwait to take part in the 10th round of Oman-Kuwait Joint Committee.
The meeting reviewed the distinguished, bilateral relations between the two countries and explored means of promoting them in various political, economic and cultural fields.
The two sides touched on a range of regional and international issues of common concern. They underlined the necessity of backing international efforts to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
They also stressed the importance of limiting the serious escalation in the region and promoting peaceful political solutions in a manner that restores stability and peace for all.
OMAN, KUWAIT JOINT COMMITTEE
The 10th round of Oman-Kuwait Joint Committee was held in Kuwait on Thursday.
The Omani side was headed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, while the Kuwaiti side was headed by Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, Foreign Minister.
Sayyid Badr pointed out in his speech that the two historic visits of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait constituted the start of a new era of firm relations. The two visits also signalled the expansion of bilateral cooperation in strategic fields that serve joint interests.
At the conclusion of the session, the two sides signed the minutes of the 10th round. They also signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and executive programmers in the fields of culture, arts, land transport, agriculture, consumer protection and municipal work. Moreover, an executive programme was signed in the field of tourism and business. An MoU was also signed for the recognition of maritime certificates for navigators.
The 10th round was attended by several officials from both sides.
The meeting came within the framework of the two countries’ keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields and in implementation of the directives of the two countries’ leaderships in promoting mutual interests. — ONA
