Ahli Sidab sink Al Suwaiq, Seeb thrash Al Nasr

The 2024-2025 season of the Oman Basketball League witnessed impressive results on Tuesday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Ahli Sidab triumphed over Al Suwaiq with a score of 104-20, while Seeb secured a comfortable victory against Al Nasr with a 101-47 result.

In the first match, Ahli Sidab achieved a landslide victory against Al Suwaiq, who is participating in the league for the first time. Ahli Sidab’s dominance was clear throughout the game, leveraging the experience of key players such as the professional Galin, along with Hamir al Hassani and Ahmed al Hassani.

Ahli Sidab started the first quarter strongly, taking a 23-2 lead, with key contributions from Hamir al Hassani and Haitham Bani Araba. The team maintained their grip in the second quarter, finishing the half with a 43-8 advantage. In the third quarter, Ahli Sidab continued their dominance, adding 38 points compared to only 2 from Al Suwaiq, closing the period at 81-10. The fourth quarter saw Ahli Sidab further extend their lead with 23 more points, ending the game at 104-20.

The game was officiated by international referees Thani al Khalasi (first referee), Wafa al Samri (second referee), and Taha al Amri (third referee). The scorekeeping table was managed by Miad al Hamdani, Huda al Hinai and Mahmoud al Ajmi.

In the second match, Seeb asserted their dominance over Al Nasr. The game began with an early lead by Seeb, thanks to Marwan al Hadidi’s contributions, although Al Nasr briefly tied the score with a shot from their professional player, Masoud Hashemi. Seeb managed to close the first quarter with a 23-15 lead.

In the second quarter, Seeb continued to shine through standout performances from players like Hassan al Faraji, Romeo and Abdulrahman al Shoaibi, concluding the first half with a 49-29 advantage.

Al Nasr attempted to narrow the gap in the third quarter, with Jalal al Musallami scoring two points. However, Seeb responded swiftly through professional player Aslam al Jami and Mazen al Hadidi, increasing the lead to 78-40 by the end of the period.

In the final quarter, Seeb maintained their offensive momentum, capitalising on Al Nasr's errors to add more points. The lead reached 90-46 before the game ended with Seeb securing a 101-47 victory.

The second match was officiated by Rashid al Mushaifri (first referee), Ali al Salmani (second referee) and Al Mahdi al Alawi (third referee). The scorekeeping table was managed by Miad al Hamdani, Omaima al Hajri and Sharifa al Zadjali.
