Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its condemnation and categorical rejection of Israeli decisions that, it said, undermine humanitarian tasks entrusted to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Oman valued the role of the UNRWA in providing assistance to more than two million Palestinian refugees.
Oman cautioned against the dire consequences of excluding the agency and reiterated its plea to the international community to intervene immediately to protect the rights of the Palestinian people, notably their right to self-determination.
