The Qatar Foundation (QF) is inviting artists and creators from Oman and across the region to participate in Al Ghorrah for Literature and Arts, offering a platform for local talents to showcase their skills and creativity on a regional stage.

The event runs from November 28 to December 2 in QF’s Education City and aims to foster cultural exchanges and celebrate the heritage and arts of Arab Islamic civilisations.

Al Ghorrah will serve as a hub for cultural interactions, bringing together artists from diverse disciplines to share their art and engage with audiences. Those interested in participating must submit their entries by November 5.

“Al Ghorrah is a dynamic platform that celebrates the rich heritage of Arab-Islamic civilisations through diverse art forms and cultural expressions,” said Hend M Al Thawadi, Engagement & Activation Lead at QF.

“Our mission is to promote this heritage regionally and globally while fostering unity and belonging across communities.

“As a space for meaningful cultural exchange, Al Ghorrah supports grassroots artists by providing opportunities to showcase their talents in an environment that values and appreciates both the arts and literature. We are especially committed to nurturing this within schools in Qatar and the region, ensuring that the next generation remains connected to their culture and literary heritage,” she added.

Al Ghorrah will feature a variety of performances in both Arabic and English, either as solo acts or larger group presentations. From theatrical performances and poetry readings to music and magic shows, the event offers a diverse range of opportunities for artists to connect and captivate audiences.

The initiative also includes a competition for local elementary and middle schools, where students will perform 15-25 minute-long presentations, with the top four acts selected to showcase at Al Ghorrah.

With its immersive experiences and family-friendly atmosphere, Al Ghorrah aims to be both educational and entertaining, inviting artists from Oman and the wider region to express themselves and foster connections through their chosen art forms.
