MUSCAT: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY), through its Directorate General of Arts, hosted the 'Sada Al Asala' (Echo of Authenticity) exhibition in honour of Omani Women’s Day. Inaugurated by Her Highness Sayyidah Dr Mona bint Fahd al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University, the exhibition was held at the Omani Society for Arts and showcased 62 distinctive artworks by a group of talented Omani female artists.

The exhibition featured a vibrant array of artistic expressions, including 31 paintings, 11 digital artworks, 16 photographs, three pieces of Arabic calligraphy, and one sculpture. This diverse collection highlights the creativity of Omani women in visual arts, offering a glimpse into their cultural heritage while also embracing modern artistic visions inspired by the Omani environment.

Aimed at emphasising the pivotal role Omani women play in enriching the visual arts scene, the 'Echo of Authenticity' exhibition also serves as a platform for addressing societal issues through artistic expressions. The exhibited works reflect the authenticity and aesthetics of Omani traditions, reimagined with innovative artistic touches.

The event underscores the Ministry's commitment to supporting the Sultanate of Oman’s cultural renaissance by encouraging female artists to explore and express their unique perspectives across various art forms. It celebrates Omani women as a cornerstone of society, acknowledging their contributions to shaping the modern cultural landscape.

Through this exhibition, the Ministry seeks to raise artistic awareness and promote fine arts as a medium for cultural dialogue. The initiative emphasises the significance of visual arts in fostering creativity, preserving identity, and advancing cultural communication within the community.

'Sada Al Asala' not only showcases the talents of Omani women but also inspires future generations of female artists to continue exploring and redefining the artistic narrative of the Sultanate of Oman. The event remains a testament to the role of art in reinforcing societal values, supporting social cohesion, and achieving sustainable cultural development in Oman.
